The Ministry of Interior signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare to promote cooperation to organize joint programs for the youth.
This agreement comes in line with the government strategy that aims to activate partnerships among different state bodies in order to guarantee the achievement of its objectives. This partnership will promote governmental bodies’ efforts to provide excellent social services based on involvement and cooperation to achieve development, progress, and prosperity.
Both entities seek to achieve their objectives by implementing plans and programs, promoting and developing institutional work, achieving excellence in providing quality services, in addition collaborating as partners to guarantee a comprehensive program that caters to the youth.
HE Lieutenant General Saif Abdullah Al Shafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, signed the MoU on behalf of Ministry, and Ibrahim Abdul Malik Mohamed, Secretary General, General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare, signed for the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.
These joint programs will promote loyalty, national identity, and a volunteering culture; it will be based on collaboration to raise the awareness among the youth and educate them on the risks of drug abuse and its consequences. The entities will actively participate in implementing plans and programs that aim to take care of talented youth as per operative regulations and mechanisms.
The MoU will also facilitate field trips for youth to different ministry departments across the UAE in order to impart knowledge, exchange scientific and modern methods and expertise in youth care, spread coherent traffic culture, establish plans and programs to educate and train youth in police work, as well as combine efforts to take care of juveniles and set up joint programs to support their talents and integrate them into the society.
Furthermore, this agreement aims to carry out training programs for youth on different aspects of civil defense. The agreement seeks to educate youth and spread a law obedience culture by cooperating with the concerned office and encouraging them to cooperate with police. This objective will be achieved through educating youth on the social police role, exchanging expertise on strategic planning and institutional excellence, and utilizing specialized academic staff to carry our research on youth and sports welfare in addition to developing scientific clubs by promoting their activities and programs in line with the scientific and technological development.
The signing ceremony was attended by Brigadier Mohammad Saleh Badah Al Awadhi, Acting Director of Media and Public Relations Department; Colonel Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khodr, Director of Legal Affairs Department; Colonel Ahmed Al Hantobi, Director of the Private Security Companies at the Ministry; Abdul Mohsen Al Dossari, Assistant Secretary General for Sports Affairs; and Mohammed Khalifa Balhol, Director of Government Communication at the General Authority of Youth and Sports Welfare.
