Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior said: the Marriage Fund has been founded to curb the costs of weddings and for the youth to come back to their genuine roots, thanks to the approach adopted by the first generation and later pursued by the leader of the nation.
 

“Mass weddings have greatly contributed to changing the pattern of our social behavior towards the better. Emiratis realized the advantages of low costs of marriage, and have become convinced to necessarily conduct premarital medical tests”, he added. 

“They have also accepted the idea of mass weddings and its role in alleviating burdens off young people wishing to get married”, he further added in a statement on the occasion of the 3rd mass wedding organized by the Ministry of Interior for 50 of its personnel across the county in cooperation with the Marriage Fund on Sunday at the Armed Forces Officers Club.

Lit General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, attended the event held under the patronage of Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

Sheikh Saif affirmed that mass weddings have proved to be successful in many ways. They helped establish genuine values in the society, encourage marriages between Emiratis, and fight negative practices such as high dowries and extravagant weddings at the expense of intrinsic martial requirements.

They also contribute to spreading lasting joy and happiness, building a stable family that is capable of taking part in development process the country is witnessing in various fields, he indicated, calling on all to cooperate and keep this experience sustainable and successful.

The ceremony was attended by Matar Salim Al Niyadi, Director General of Electronic Services and Communication, Brigadier Ahmed Nehkairah, Director of Human Rights
Department, Colonel Saif Al Kutbi, Director of Police College, members of the board of directors of the Marriage Fund including Rashid Al Kashf, Amir Abduljaleel Al Faheem and an number of police officers and over 500 of relatives and invitees.

“The ceremony embodies true community partnership among all the government institutions, and highlights the humanitarian trends in different ways of social work at the Ministry of Interior, said Dr. Maitha Al Shamesi, State Minister and Chairman of the board of directors of the Marriage Fund in a speech on this occasion.

   
Addressing the ceremony, Lt General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior said:  mass wedding is an important issue which requires combination of efforts to encourage marriages among Emirati citizens.
 
 
On behalf of the brides, Ayman al Mismari said: mass wedding initiative is a valuable step towards reducing costs of marriage and abstaining from extravagance.
 
In this joyful evening, he said, we are honored to extend apperception to the patron of this ceremony Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his attention and encouragement.
 
He also thanked the marriage fund and the Ministry of Interior for their support of this wedding, and their tangible role in prompting community partnership among government sectors.
At the end of the ceremony undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior and Rashid Al Kashf, member of the board of directors of the Marriage Fund exchanged mementos shields.
