Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations affirmed that the wise leadership established a modern State at the world level; enjoying security, stability and peaceful coexistence. He added that the crime rate in the UAE is lesser than any country in the world, compared to the number of population.
In a lecture delivered in Abu Dhabi Khalifa University titled “Journey of dedication”, he noted that security is an important pillar for the country; as it relates to development and many other economic and social aspects.
The lecture was held on the sidelines of the Technology Fair organized by the Central Operations General Department; to acquaint the Administrative and faculty staff as well as students, with state-of-the-art services it provides to the public.
Major General Al Raisi said that the Ministry of Interior succeeded in expanding its achievements according to its planned strategies, thus contributing to the overall national development rise of the country. These achievements include promoting security and stability for society and its institutions and gaining its confidence. Moreover, he noted that the Abu Dhabi Police has worked diligently to implement the strategy of the UAE Government seeking excellence and leadership, and earned several local and international awards.
Furthermore, Al Raisi explained the priorities and objectives of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, namely; the fight against crime; the optimal use of human resources; community confidence; security and safety; all provided by an efficiently managed police institution, to make roads safer.
He also gave a presentation shedding light on the Abu Dhabi Police organizational structure; the functions and tasks of the Central Operations Department; the Crisis and Disasters Management Department; the Information Technology and Telecommunications Department; the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, and the Emergency and Public Safety Department.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi highlighted the functions of the newly developed Crisis and Disasters Management Department that organizes police tasks in coordination with relevant partners. He also noted that the Victims Affairs Office was established to collect information on disaster victims and receives calls from victims and missing persons’ families.
In addition, he tackled the development of services provided to the public, namely; the 3 minutes fast completion of traffic transactions. He also highlighted the initiatives and the strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi police, as well as its achievements and ongoing projects, adding that ADP Ambulance Department has been chosen as “The best in the region”.
Following the lecture, which was attended by Dr. Todd Larsen, President of Khalifa University; Dr. Aref Al Hammadi, Director of the University; and by a number of administrative and faculty staff and students, the Director General of Central operations answered the audience queries. Then, he expressed his pride to see the number of national cadres graduating from the Khalifa University in various fields. At the end, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi exchanged commemorative gifts with Dr. Larsen.
For his part, Dr. Aref Sultan Al Hammadi, Director of Khalifa University, thanked Major General Al Raisi for his distinguished lecture, and for acquainting attendees with the some of the latest techniques used by ADP in the fields of security and electronic services.
