MOU between MoI and ZU to qualify specialists and experts

 

Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Zayed University (ZU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding and cooperation to qualify specialists, technicians and experts in different areas, on Tuesday. The aim of the agreement is to raise training standard and to promote job efficiency of ADP personnel to join work at relevant units in MoI, to link MoI objectives with community needs in accordance with the strategic plan of MoI. 

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, MoI Undersecretary, signed the MOU for the Ministry of Interior, and Dr. Suleiman Musa Al Jasim, Director Zayed University signed for the University. Both parties were desirous to strengthen the bases of the joint relations in the field of human resources development and to expand cooperation between them in all education and training areas.

The MOU stipulates that ZU provide modern scientific curriculum to qualify specialists, technicians and experts in different areas with assistance of its advanced equipment and specialized teaching staff and scientists. The MOU also aim is to extend academic and training cooperation and to strengthen cultural and scientific ties in order to achieve desired aims.

Lt. General Saif al Shaafar lauded the distinguished standard and high stature of Zayed University which it had achieved at local and world level, and implementation of classy academic programmes in accordance with best global standards. 

He affirmed that the University moves with steady steps to develop higher education system in the country, stating that MoI pay attention, in the first place, to the country security, but we do not ignore the training and education of our personnel.

Dr. Al Jasim lauded the vision of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and HH keenness on the development of human resources in different police sectors and giving MoI personnel the opportunity to acquire necessary skills for applied, scientific and practical areas, in line with global standards. Taking the fourth place by ADP at world level in terms of performance and quality proves the success of development strategy of the police force.

Dr. Al Jasim also affirmed that Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chairman of ZU always calls for ZU to be a bridge which transfers knowledge to the community. Signing of the MOU allows MoI personnel to obtain Bachelor and masters Degrees according to ZU prescribed programmes.

He stated that the MOU translates the continuous keenness of ZU on strengthening its cultural and scientific ties with community institutions and business sectors, through its training programmes and scientific researches which it designs and implements according to these institutions needs. It also transfers knowledge and technologies to community through its partnership with well known universities around the world.
