Colonel Abdullah Saeed Hattab Al Dhaheri, Director of the Ports Security Institute in Abu Dhabi Police attended the graduation of 73 members from the Ports and Airports Security Police Department after completing four courses, on: “detection and security inspection using computer based training "CBT", "surveillance, reconnaissance and information gathering", “airport security basics course which spanned over one week, in addition to the “English course” that spanned over 21 days at the Institute.

Al Dhaheri noted that Abu Dhabi Police dedicates a great importance to train its human cadre, which reflects the keenness of the Police Leadership to qualify its members and improve their capabilities, thus promoting the development process witnessed by the State in all sectors.

Moreover, Al Dhaheri pointed out to the role of the Ports Security Institute in this aspect; through its continuous specialized training courses that build the participants’ knowledge, and provide qualified members, practically and scientifically, in order to carry out the tasks assigned to them to the fullest, and provide services as per the best international standards.

Colonel Abdullah Saeed Hattab Al Dhaheri distributed certificates to the graduates, in the presence of a number of officers from the Ports and Airports Security Department in Abu Dhabi Police. He also congratulated them on their interaction with the training program and their dedication to improve their skills in their respective fields, by enrolling and attending training courses.

In parallel, Lieutenant Colonel Naima Salim Awad, Director of the Training Section at the Institute, stated that a total of 73 participants graduated after completing the four courses; 13 of whom graduated from the “detection and security inspection course using computer based training”, thus honing their skills in the means and methods of inspecting luggage and procedures carried out in this regard.

“23 participants took part in the surveillance, reconnaissance and information gathering course and were qualified in the Criminal Investigation surveillance and reconnaissance; usage of modern techniques, in addition to the superior capabilities of the various types of imaging process”, added Awad, indicating that another 27 members enrolled in the “airport security basics course” and were introduced to the methods of communicating and collaborating with airport entities; passenger and luggage inspection procedures and other aspects related to detection and inspection.

Moreover, Director of the Training Section at the Institute said that the English course, which spanned over three weeks, was attended by ten participants, seeking to learn the language and boost their self-confidence while speaking it when dealing with others.


… Qualification of 10 Drivers from the Special Tasks Department

On the other hand, Colonel Rashid Suhail Saeed Al Ali, Director of the Guards and Special Tasks General Department at Abu Dhabi Police, attended the graduation ceremony of 10 drivers who operate the Special tasks vehicles, who completed the one month "drivers of overall vehicles" course.

During the ceremony, held at the General Department’s headquarters, Colonel Al Ali stated that the course aims to raise the level of performance and develop skills in driving vehicles, in addition to checking their validity and safety during the line of work. He expressed his thanks to the trainers for their efforts in raising the drivers’ capacities, and congratulated the graduates urging them to implement what they learned during this course.
