GCC Forensic Evidence Directors recommend Laboratories to be inter-linked

 

Participants in the GCC Forensic Evidence Departments Directors meeting, on Wednesday, recommended agreement on setting up an interlink between Forensic Laboratories in GCC States, standards for work systems and a mechanism for dealing with international courts in cases which involve foreign parties.

They expressed their deep thanks and gratitude to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for his attention and his meeting with them on the side lines of the event. They also recommended that the meeting to be held on annual basis before the meeting of the GCC States Ministers of Interior, under the new title "The GCC States Directors of Forensic Evidence and Laboratories Departments Meeting".

They also recommended during their first coordinating meeting, in collaboration with ADP Center for Security Research and Studies to activate joint scientific reasearches, preparing a directory for forensic laboratories containing information about their capabilities, types of examinations carried out, unifying job titles of employees, cooperation between laboratories in efficiency tests, circulation of training courses and specialized workshops for mutual benefits.

The lauded Qatari initiative of Electronic Club for Forensic Evidence Sciences, to create communication and to disseminate knowledge, eo exchange academic expertise through university study programmes, courses, visits, cooperation in labs equipments purchase in terms of their efficiency and the need for them. They also agreed that priority should be given to supporting international recognition of GCC States Forensic labs.

Major General Nasser La Khreibani al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior opened on Wednesday at the ADP Forensic Evidence Department Conference Room, the first Coordinating meeting of the Directors of Forensic evidence Departments at GCC States, organized in collaboration with ADP Center for Security Research and Studies.

Al Nuaimi affirmed the importance of coordinating meetings between GCC States in all areas, especially in police and security work, as it was the cornerstone of development and growth. ADP initiative to organize the meeting was aimed to enhance cooperation and to create integration between GCC States Forensic Labs. Our continuous development of Forensic Labs resulted in getting international recognition, in addition to a number of agreements and MOUs signed with advanced countries.
