Lieutenant General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed that seeking excellence by the government of the UAE to serve the public and encourage various sectors to do so is not a matter of show and luxury, but it is national and ethical obligation both alike, indicating that creative work has become part of the general responsibility toward the people and the country.
As he honors around 168 winners of the Minister of Interior's Excellence Award on Tuesday evening at the police officers club, Sheikh Saif also said: we must excel, in appreciation for the those hands which offered abundantly, for those efforts which our preceding brothers have made, for the rights of those coming generations which will replace us one day, and for the rights of the members of the public who placed trust on and assigned us to assume their important affairs so that they can live in peace, safety and order, sheikh Saif further added.
The trust I put on you increases day after day while you keep show perseverance and devotion. We, by the support of Allah and the determination of our leaders, will move ahead to keep our police organization on top of not only the Region's organizations but those of the entire world, said Sheikh Saif addressing the ministry of interior's personnel.
The ceremony included the honoring of the distinguished police headquarters and general directorates and taskforces and personnel who won the Minister of Interior Excellence award. Honoring also included the companies, customers and a number of the society members who contributed to achieving the goals of the ministry of interior.
Having given a short brief about the Award's goals, Major General Abdulqudoos Al Obaidly, general coordinator of the award, announced the winners of the Award of its various categories. "Community service" award went to Mahmoud Musa Ali; UAE national, "model driver award" won by Hiba Ahmed Ghanem, Syrian, and "model partners" award went to the Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman.
At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Saif accompanied by Lt. General Al Sha'far, undersecretary of the ministry of interior, presented awards to the winners.
Attending the ceremony were, Major General Salem Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, major general staff, Khalifa Harib Al Kheli, assistant undersecretary for Resources and Support Services, Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Menhali, assistant undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency, and Ports, Major General staff Obied Al Hiri Al Kutbi, deputy commander general of Abu Dhabi Police, Major General Khamis Matar Al Mezaina, deputy commander in chief of Dubai Police, Major General Sheikh Talib bin Saqer Al Qasimi, commander general of Ras Al Khaimah Police, police commanders across the country, directors general, and a number of senior police officers.
It is to be noted that the award, launched by HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, last March, includes three categories. The first and second categories are dedicated to the headquarters, directorates, and staff members of the ministry of interior in areas of organizational excellence, model employee, human resources, customer services, community responsibility, creativity and scientific research, the best team, information management, planning, performance management, optimum use of electronic services, corporate communication and innovation.
The third category is allocated to the government authorities, private sector and individuals and it covers seven awards. These are: Community Service Award granted to the community members, who have heroic and voluntary deeds in helping the Ministry in Policing, Civil Defense
