Criminal Law is the law of honorable people: Lt. Colonel Iman Al Jabri

Lt. Colonel (Dr.) Iman Mohammad Al Jabri has willfully and confidentially overcome all difficulties to become the first UAE woman works as an Investigator and Lecturer in the Police College. She worked as Director of Women Police Training Institute in Abu Dhabi and joined the Center of Research and Security Studies.

Her journey with the police started in 1992; then she received her degree of law in 1996, Masters and Ph D in the Criminal Law.

I was aware that studying of law was not easy, but I wanted to be different from others. At least knowledge of law would allow you to be aware of your rights and duties. Law as a concept should not be harsh as many people think. Due to a miss understanding from the Criminal Law instructor I insisted on getting high marks in the subject. The examination was divided to written and oral. I believed that the instructor was not fair with me in the oral section of the examination.

Many people do not know the real meaning of the Criminal Law. It shows the procedures that an individual should take when he commits an illegal action. People always think the Criminal Law is connected with crime, which is not the case. It is the law of the Innocent.

General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He also encouraged me to join the teaching staff of the College.

My first lecture was about rape and sodomy. The students tried to disturb me during the lecture but I managed to control them and continued my lecture. The success or failure of the student depends on the delivery of the lecture by the instructor and how he can attract his students to the subject of the lecture.

The journey with the police work

My journey with the police work began in 1992. I joined Dubai Police College during evening classes. I got my Licence in law in 1996. I worked after graduation as investigator where I succeeded in my job after five months of probationary period. She would forget the situation when she was sent along with two cadets to examine a dead body. The cadets could not bear the situation and began to vomit and lose conscience. For me I determined to complete my job, but with nightmare for nights. Then I was transferred to Women Police Training Institute, then the Police College up to date. I also work at the Center of
