Conditions for purchasing firearms at International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition are specified

 

The Ministry of Interior has specified the conditions under which firearms can be purchased at the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEE) – 2009. The exhibition will start on Wednesday 30 September 2009.

According to Colonel Humaid Saeed Al Afreet, Head of Firearms and Explosives Section at Abu Dhabi Police and Chairman of ADIHEE Security Committee the purchasing conditions are as follows:

UAE nationals whose passports are issued in Abu Dhabi, they have to submit a Good Conduct Certificate, which they can obtain now from Madinat Zayed Police Station.

UAE nationals whose passports are issued in other Emirates, they have to submit a No Objection Certificate issued by Their Excellencies Emirates Rulers' Diwans or Their Excellencies Crown Princes' Diwans. They also have to submit a Good Conduct Certificate endorsed by their Emirates Police Headquarters.

For GCC citizen they have to submit a No Objection Certificate issued by their Ministries of Interior and endorsed by their respective embassies to UAE. 

He also has stated that Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters have taken all necessary security arrangements to keep pace with the organization of the Exhibition. These arrangements are in response to the directives of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
