Following the directives of HIS HIGHNESS Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Minister of Interior, a delegation of the Federal Community Police at the Secretariat General of the Office of HIS HIGHNESS Deputy Prime Minister and UAE Minister of Interior, met with the residents of Al Dhaid and Al Maddam in Sharjah, and discussed topics concerning the residents, including boosting the role of the Community Police, and ideas of methods in serving the people were also exchanged in coordination with other entities.
The meeting was hosted in the house of citizen Jomaa bin Sharara Al Ketbi in Al Maddam area, and was remarkable for its transparency. It reflected the patriotic sense of citizens. The meeting was chaired by Lieutenant Colonel Mubarak bin Mehairoum, Acting Director of the Abu Dhabi Community Police Department, in the presence of many officials and prominent figures, as well as citizens of Al Dhaid and Al Maddam.
Saeed Mesbah Al Kaabi, Director of Sharjah Educational Zone, inaugurated the meeting with a speech in which he welcomed the Police delegation and the audience. On behalf of the residents, he thanked our wise leadership for taking care of citizens, listening to their problems and demands, and providing means for a decent life to all citizens of our beloved country.
Al Kaabi considered this meeting a perfect opportunity to exchange views and ideas representing the citizens’ aspirations, in order to benefit from experiences which improve their lifestyle and pay attention to all breakthroughs which may serve the society, by strengthening communication and ties between citizens and achieve cooperation.
Lieutenant Colonel Mubarak bin Mehairoum, gave a statement shedding light on the role and objectives of Community Police, and how to draw benefits from its practices in communities and residential areas. He gave as an example of Bani Yas in Abu Dhabi, which was the first to implement the community experience, and which was accepted by the UAE community at that time.
Bin Mehairoum confirmed that the Community Police focuses on the awareness role which enlightens individuals to the best community behaviors for tackling different daily issues. Activating this role is highly beneficial on society, strengthening ties and cordiality among all. He pointed out that awareness programs will be held in schools and residential areas, through parental visits to service centers, alongside boosting the spirit of participation among neighbors to play a preventive role where they live.
Retired Major General Rashid bin Mehian Al Ketbi, President of Sharjah Central Region Parents Council, reaffirmed what Lieutenant Colonel Bin Mehairoum said, and he stated that future programs will be applied to raise the awareness of citizens and residents, and the role of Community Police will be activated to establish security and stability among community members in residential areas. He also called on parents to follow up with their children and provide them with constant advice.
He further said that a proposition will be put in place in the upcoming period, to instill a sense of loyalty to the county among the youth and children, boosting their knowledge and patriotism, and focusing on organizing awareness campaign regarding the importance of the country and the necessity of protecting it.
Khamis Salem Al Suwaidi, Member of Sharjah Executive Council, said that there are many projects under study which will be concluded in the near future, serving citizens and promoting our role by communicating with the Community Police, in order to provide premium services to our society and protect it against any potential obstacles which may hinder its progress and prosperity.
