Al Ghuwaifat Border Check Point delivers 500 Iftar meal daily to travelers

Al Ghuwaifat Border Check Point, with effect from Wednesday, first day of Ramadan, started distributing 500 Iftar meals to fasting travelers each day, as a humanitarian gesture and to help simplify travel procedures.

Colonel Khamis Musabah Al Marar, Director of ADP Outlets and Airports Security Department has urged the Police Section of Al Ghuwaifat Outlet to help those travelling, finalize their transactions as soon as possible, and help them solve any problems they face during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Major Salim bin Tassa Al Amri, Head of Al Ghuwaifat Outlet Police Section, of ADP Department of Outlets and Airports Security, said "A tent has been prepared to receive those who are fasting. It is provided with water, dates and juices. These items are supplied by ADP GHQ, Western Region Police Directorate, Red Crescent Authority and the Western Region Municipality. The phone number (8082800) is dedicated to answer travellers' queries by the Duty Officer"

"ADP GHQ has prepared a mobile workshop to repair vehicles which are met with minor technical breakdowns near the border area. It will also repair tyres and provide them with fuel if necessary. In order to make use of this service please call (8082800)', added Al Amri.

He has urged travellers to ensure that their personal documents are complete, vehicles and buses registrations are valid etc. The most prevailing problem is that some travelers when they come to the Border Check Point discover that their passports are expired.

He has urged drivers to ensure that the documents of their vehicles are complete, valid and the stamps on them are correct.
