Al Ghuwaifat: call center assistance and cabin service for land travelers

 

Colonel (Dr.) Saif Bu Dhafeera Al Amri, Director General of Security and Ports Affairs at ADP said “One traveler only needs less than two minutes to go through Al Ghuwaifat Border Point which is a record time due to the use of advanced technologies and team work”.

“Preparations for receiving land travelers by Al Ghuwaifat Outlet Security Police Section, of the Directorate general of Security and Ports Affairs at ADP, have been completed, in collaboration with the Border Point staff.

Major Saeed Al Afari, Deputy Head of Al Ghuwaifat Outlet Security Police Section said “The Outlet has provided direct communication with the Duty Officer in case of emergency through the phone number: 050 1728187. Also there are places for travelers rest at entry and exit halls and other halls provided with all necessary amenities".

"The number of outlet staff has been increased to cope with the rush and coordination with other parties has been made to make travelers comfortable. All relevant parties at the outlet cooperate with each other to deliver best general services and security services to the travelers", added Colonel Al Amri. 

"Al Ghuwaifat Border Outlet is one of the most important outlets in the country. The movement of people and goods heightens during certain seasons, including summer season. Therefore, promotion and improvement works on facilities, roads and vehicle lanes are carried out at all times", added Al Amri.

Major Saeed Al Afari, Deputy Head of Al Ghuwaifat Outlet Security Police Section said "Additional cabins will be opened soon to facilitate traveler's movement; ATM service will be provided in addition to security and humanitarian services provided by policemen for the travelers, including ambulance and rescue unit which will provide its services round the clock".

There is an ambulance vehicle well equipped and provided with medical crew for emergencies. Any medical complications happen the case will be taken to Al Salaa Hospital, 18 km from the Outlet.

Major Al Afari said "Entry and exit of vehicle through the outlet witnessed an increase during the period from January to April 2010. 510,620 vehicles used the outlet during this period this year. But during the same period last year 485,146 vehicles used the outlet. The total number of vehicles used the outlet during last year was 2,529,347. Of these 942,240 were private vehicles and 1,587,170 were trucks. 2,650,669 travelers crossed the outlet last year. 937,240 travelers used the outlet during the period from 1st January to 24th May.
