Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Director General of ADP Human Resources and Acting Director General of Policing Operations has affirmed that the Community Police cares for communication with community segments which are aware of their responsibilities and participate in finding solutions to the problems that community faces. This in itself is an indication of civilized thinking and affirms several implications focusing on compliance with the valid law rules which organize different activities and achieve an important goal which is the security and stability of the community.
He has continued during a reception ceremony of a Qatari delegation from Qatari Department of Community Police, headed by Major Ahmed Zayed Al Mahanadi "The Community Police experiment which has been implemented in response to the directives of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has pioneered in boosting communication between the police and the community sectors and institutions, on one hand and the different segments of the public on the other hand".
"Our doors are open for all police delegations from brotherly and friendly nations to visit us in order to review the community police experiment and exchange of experiences. The principle of the community police is implemented in the UAE so as to streamline administration methods and community policing strategies, to achieve partnership principle between the police force and the community and to share efforts in solving problems. This is done through joint efforts with government institutions, local community and the citizen", added Al Minhali.
In the same context Lt. Colonel Mubarak bin Meheiroom, Director the Department of Community Police said "The principle of community police is based on having all community sectors being responsible for cooperation with the police in a direct way, establishing full partnership between the local community and the police, in order to identify local problems and solving them, and increasing sense of security which provides individual with joint objectives and interests which should be maintained".
"The Community Police contributed and is still contributing to the increase of community satisfaction with police services, police elements with their work, solution of community problems and reduction of crime rates", added bin Meheiroom.
The Qatari delegation in turn has described ADP Community Police experiment as excellent and successful, and parallels the developed countries models. He has lauded ADP efforts in safeguarding the country's security and stability gains.
The Qatari delegation paid a visit to Bani Yass Police Station where the delegation was briefed by Major Humaid Mohammad Al Afari, Director of the Station on the achievements, works and services of the Community Police.
The delegation also paid a visit to Al Rahba Police Station, where they were briefed by Major Khatim Al Rashdi, Director of the Station on the tasks and duties of the Community Police. The delegation members acquainted themselves with the tasks of the community police daily patrols, which include collection of information, drafting of reports and preparation of security information programme.
