Abu Dhabi will host the Fifth Conference of the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) titled: "International Cooperation: A Tool to Enable Prevention" from the 11th to 13th December 2012.
The conference will tackle exploitation via Internet; the conference will use the stories of some victims as a tool enabling prevention, discuss the risks related to child exploitation investigations, as well as highlight the importance of establishing extensions that contribute to the review of photographed evidence and behavioral analysis in the investigations of sexual assaults against children.
It will also discuss legislations that must be approved in that regard and will provide an overview of the technology used by the perpetrators of sexual abuse against children. It will confirm the need for technology to face that threat, and the benefits to ban such websites. The conference will stress the importance of cooperation in the fight against such crimes and the Virtual and Global team achievements as well as its global partnership strategies.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H. Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection in the Ministry of Interior, and the State Representative in the Organization Management Board, said that the ongoing preparations are significant, and highlighted its role in the transfer of knowledge and the best international practices to give an honorable image of the country in such international forums and introduce leading national initiatives and projects.
He stated that the conference was held on average once every two years in one of the Member States, stressing the commitment of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, that the United Arab Emirates become a civilized center exemplifying its efforts to enhance child protection and security through the procedures and legislations in this context.
The Higher Committee for Child Protection in the Ministry of Interior includes: the Ministry of Justice, the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, the Emirates Authority for Identity, the Family Development Foundation, the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the Family Development Centers Directorate in Sharjah, Zayed High Organization for Humanitarian Care and Special Needs, and the Department of Social Services in the Government of Sharjah.
Lieutenant Colonel Faisal Mohammed Al Shamari, Director of the Ministry of Interior Center for the Child Protection, asserted that the UAE efforts to protect children and to provide them a decent life has ensured an advanced status among countries requiring constant vigilance in spreading awareness to be able to effectively deal with the challenges related with their privacy, reputation and health protection. He also pointed out that young people in their dealings with the digital world may be exposed to different types of threats or serious issues that require advice, direction, and adequate solutions to overcome it.
