Abu Dhabi Police launched on Wednesday awareness and educational campaign to enlighten oil workers about the inspection procedures and security requirements followed by  the airports, and the items which are not permitted to be brought into the aircraft.

The campaign was conducted in cooperation and coordination with Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA).

Col. Khamis Al Marar, director of Ports and Airports Security Police Department said that police leadership is keen on supporting any effort that may enhance safety awareness, indicating that launching this campaign is an example for this trend.

He added that police has external partners with which it keeps in touch to achieve the highest safety and security levels, noting that oil companies are among our  main partners because they have many passengers travelling through airports.

He concluded by thanking the team who made a lot of coordinative efforts to put this initiative into effect. He also thanked ADMA for their positive reaction towards the initiative.

For his part, CEO of ADMA, Ali Rashid Al Jerwan praised the Abu Dhabi Police initiative, pointing out that if the passengers observe these procedures, this will largely contribute to ensure the safety of flights and safety of the passengers as well.

He said the campaign’s program included a package of educational materials and orientation sessions. He was confident that the campaign will achieve its goals in light of the strong relation and cooperation with Abu Dhabi Police.

“Lectures will be organized; awareness pamphlets and guide booklets in Arabic, English and Urdu will be distributed”, said 1st Lt. Ibrahim Al Hammadi, head of domestic flight branch and campaign’s coordinator, affirming that these methods will help expedite detection and search procedures at the security gate and increase passengers awareness.

Opening ceremony has begun with a presentation about the safety and health procedures. Then the flight team manager delivered an introductory lecture about ADMA. Also security expert at Ports and Airports Security Police Department, Taleb Al Zaabi, delivered a lecture on the preventive security procedures followed by Abu Dhabi Airport, in addition to the preventive security duties passengers are required to abide with.
