Colonel Ibrahim Sultan Al Zuabi, Director of Community Police Center in Abu Dhabi Police, accompanied with Gerard Aubertel, Director of Lycée Louis Massignonin launched the Safety and Security Exhibition in the school’s sports stadium; it will continue for two days.
The exhibition includes awareness and entertainment activities and different competitions for students. Awards and publications will be distributed; the latter focuses on enhancing education and security safety.
The exhibition was attended by the capital’s police directorate represented by the Community Police Center and the City Police Center; Traffic and Patrol Directorate; Civil Defense General Directorate; Safety and Emergency Department of the Central Operation General Department; Community Police Department; Emirates Driving Company; Abu Dhabi Education Council; Abu Dhabi Municipality (Community Department); Transport Department; and Emirates Telecommunication Corporation.
The ceremony began with UAE National Anthem, and was followed by a speech from the School Director who welcomed the attendees, and extended his thanks to the Abu Dhabi Police and other authorities for taking part in the exhibition. He also highlighted its role in providing students with security education, traffic and general safety. He pointed out that the exhibition is a symbol of the fruitful cooperation between the school and participating authorities.
Colonel Al Zuabi delivered a speech in which he thanked the school management for inviting the Abu Dhabi Police to participate in the exhibition to spread awareness to the students, introducing them to the role of the police to communicate with different categories of society as well provide the continuous assurance to their safety and security. The school director delivered a memorial shield to the colonel and offered appreciation certificates to the participating parties.
Major Saeed Hamad Al Ameri, Director of City Police Center, gave a speech about the importance of the exhibition that gives a message to private school students. He reiterated the necessity of teaching students concepts of security and safety at an early stage. He thanked the school management for its initiative and concern towards the students.
The launch event was attended by Vice Admiral Marin Jele, of French Forces who appreciated the participation of the Abu Dhabi Police, and expressed his happiness with what he witnessed during the morning for its great importance in educating children about security and safety.
He confirmed the importance of teaching youth the concepts of general safety at all times and for all ages. He considered this exhibition an opportunity for students to benefit from the advice adding that the importance comes from the response comes from a number of parties including the Abu Dhabi Police in this awareness event.
Colonel Al Zuabi, accompanied by Aubertel, and a number of officers, surveyed the exhibition’s booths, which included: Abu Dhabi Tourism Booth, Abu Dhabi Education Council Booth, and the Community Police Department Booth. They were received by the “Bear” from Abu Dhabi Police. The bear identified himself as the character “Abu Ghaneem,” and pointed out the importance of educating children about tradition and ethics including respecting senior citizens.
The audience was introduced to the Community Police Department Bike, which is an environment-friendly machine, used to move on Abu Dhabi Cornish and public parks for awareness and it is equipped with fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit.
