Abu Dhabi Police celebrates graduation of first batch of Female Police cadets

Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters celebrates the graduation of first batch of female police cadets' anniversary. It was in 1978 that the first batch of policewomen graduated. The major event will take place at Marina Mall Shopping Center in Abu Dhabi, on 16 and 17 September, under the slogan "Our Past is our Heritage…Our Heritage Is Our Treasure".

Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Director General of Human Resources and Acting Director General of Policing Operations at ADP, said "Celebrations will continue for two weeks at various main shopping centers in Abu Dhabi Emirate. Celebrations include handling of firearms, female officers with police dogs, Police Music Band shows and highlighting the remarkable success achieved by national policewomen".

"Female police have achieved a qualitative leap since its foundation in 1978 and has succeeded in attracting the UAE women to join the police force after being qualified and prepared to carry out their tasks and duties", added Al Minhali.

"Female Police Force has been established because the UAE leadership believes in the women's role in the country development. The Force has achieved many objectives including qualification and training of female police cadets, shifting them from civilian life to military style of life and providing them with law sciences. The country's Leadership pays great attention to the progress of Emirati women and empowering them in different areas of police departments. They have proved their excellence in different areas of work. Calling the personnel of police force instead of policemen, includes both men and women, means that there is no differentiation between males and females", added Al Minhali.

"ADP is keen to highlight Emirati women’s achievements in the police force, in newspapers and periodical magazines, on TV and radio programmes, and their dedication to the country's security and stability. They also have a role in instilling educational and ethical values and preparing generations for the country's future", added Al Minhali.

"Female Police School in Abu Dhabi has witnessed a great turnout where they have all policing fields, such as Investigations, security guard, training especially at the Police College, medical services, security inspection and other vital areas. They have contributed to achievement of strategic objectives and priorities of ADP GHQ", added Al Minhali.

At the end of his statement, Major General Al Minhali has called on Emirati women to respond to national duties and join the police force so as to boost the security and social progress of the country.
