Abu Dhabi Police adopts a strategic initiative to implement World Activity Based Costing
ADP GHQ, Directorate General of Finance and Services, has adopted a new strategic initiative to implement a new system of accounting "Activity Based Costing' (ABC). It is one of the most advanced systems in the world in this field.
In the same context Major General Khaleel Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police, opened a workshop to implement the new system, in the Department of Criminal Evidence Conference Room. The introduction of the new system is part of ADP vision to become the most operationally effective police force possible, in accordance with the Five-year Strategic Plan, derived from Abu Dhabi Government Strategy.
Major General Badran has confirmed that the adoption of this initiative is In response to the directives of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior. It enhances development work efforts which are in line with the Government Vision.
The International American expert Mr. Mark Abraham, 30 years of experience in this field, has been invited to deliver a lecture on the complete model of ABC. A number of ADP GHQ Department Officials participated in the workshop. Mr. Abraham reviewed the essence of his experiences and other governments and institutions in USA and UK experiences in implementation of ABC. Salaries consume great part of governments and organizations budgets, therefore employees should be selected="true" and deployed according to priorities. The new system should be subjected to test for at least two years.
The Workshops would continue for three days from 15 to 17 December 2009. The workshops would include theoretical and field discussions. It is worth mentioning that the Directorate General of Finance and Services has implemented pioneering projects in the light of ADP GHQ strategic objectives, including a data base for financial resources.
