Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters won the Balanced Scorecard 2012 Hall of Fame International Award, becoming one of the best institutions to successfully implement the strategy management standards using these scorecards, as per the standards of Palladium Group specialized in systems and basics applications to promote strategic management in institutions.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, received the award at a grand ceremony organized in Boston in the USA to honor the winners.

12 leading institutions from around the globe competed through their achievements in terms of outstanding performance in implementing their strategies. Those institutions came from northern parts of the USA, Middle East and Asia, all applied for this year’s award which was went to the Abu Dhabi Police.

Secretary General Al Nuaimi said that this achievement comes in line with the instructions of Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior. It also embodies the ongoing efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters for over than 8 years in applying the best practices in fields of strategic planning and performance development, through implementing the Balanced Scorecard in all the processes and at all levels.

He added: “Acquiring this Award reflects the Abu Dhabi Police diligent efforts to promote institutional planning and conduct business as per the modern principles of strategic management. Institutional planning has become a necessary factor for implementing modern strategy concepts, due to the local, regional and international changes impacting police work, thus requiring that we remain diligently present among the finest police institutions in the world in terms of global competitiveness.”

The ceremony was attended by Colonel Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development Department at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters; Captain Ali Sultan Al Nuaimi, Head of Performance Management Division; Captain Obaid Abdullah Al Rumaithi, Head of Strategic Development Division at the Strategy and Performance Development Department in Abu Dhabi Police.

Notably, implementing the Balanced Scorecard contributes in spreading the culture of strategy among all departments in Abu Dhabi Police, and at all level, including police stations and personnel.

The Abu Dhabi Police established and updated the rules and principles that ensure the readiness of police forces in the society. It successfully implemented the concept of community police that is based on sharing and consultation with the society, making Abu Dhabi Police a “driving force” in line with the development and prosperity process that the UAE is witnessing; to achieve its vision of ensuring that Abu Dhabi remains a healthy community, living in peace and safety. 

About the Balanced Scorecard

The Balanced Scorecard celebrates international institutions that achieved excellence through using the Balanced Scorecard, and implementing their strategies as per the best world practices. The first version of the Balanced Scorecard was deployed 20 years ago with the participation of a number of experts mainly: Robert Kaplan and David Norton who are the founders of the Palladium Group. The model aims to reach to the best non-profit management, and the number of recognized entities last year was estimated at 167 including: Cisco System, Merck, Infosys Technologies, FBI, Volkswagen-Brazil and Puerto Rico Clubs. Winners included institutions from than 20 countries from all over the world, and winners are chosen based on standards of the Balanced Scoreca
