Major Mohammed Al Menhali announced that police and traffic patrols will be deployed in various locations in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and police teams will follow-up the patrols’ efforts, especially for emergency cases, pointing to the importance of exerting joint efforts by following the preventive requirements either during the Eid Al Adha Holiday, or on various occasions throughout the year.

Furthermore, Brigadier General Mohammed Saleh Badah Al Awadi, Acting Director of Public Relations in the Ministry of Interior, called on the public and the families to supervise and control their children while they are in places of entertainment, urging them not to leave the children unattended curtailing the potential of them falling from high places or escalators, or losing them in crowds.

He urged parents not to leave children alone at home fearing their safety from the dangers of sharp objects or flammable materials. He highlighted the need to supervise children when playing in parks and gardens, and to avoid electronic games of a serious nature as they are not age appropriate.

“Playing in parks and gardens requires caution from the exposed drilling or wells, electrical wires, insects, or anything that might cause harm to children. Barbecuing should take place in dedicated locations provided by the municipalities and not on balconies as it is a potential fire hazard,” he added.

Additionally, he emphasized on the need to remove all the exposed and damaged electrical wires, to cover the pull and push water pumps inside and outside the houses, with the need to change the electric water heater if it has been in use for more than five years, to ensure lights are off during the rainfall, and unplug the electricity on the specific panels in shops.

Brigadier Mohammed Al Awadi confirmed the need to unplug the electricity while sleeping especially on heating devices, warning against those that operate by coal due to its major threat to users.

Finally, Brigadier Al Awadi called on drivers to be cautious on the internal and external roads and to abide by the legal speed limit especially during foggy conditions.
