Abu Dhabi Music Band dazzles "Khalidia Mall" visitors
In celebration of its 47th anniversary, ADP Music Band has staged a musical show at Khalidia Mall in Abu Dhabi. It is the third musical evening within its celebration programme, which includes al Ain City and the Western Region. The Band dazzled shoppers and tourists with charming pieces of music.
The evening started with a military parade titled “Al Medan” (Public Square) through the Mall corridors, to the center of the Mall. The Band played the band played the song of “Allah Ya Dar Zayed’ (Hooray Zayed’s Home). Then it played a range of music pieces varied between Emirati heritage, Arabic songs and world symphonies.
Lt. Ibrahim Maatooq Al Hosani, Director of Training and Activities Branch said "Our aim is to send a message to the community to show them the history and old origin of ADP Music Band and as a first military band in the Emirate".
"WE have noticed during music evenings that the audiences are very happy. They want such activities to continue in order to relieve stresses and strains of their lives. Even tourists have expressed their admiration for the shows", added Al Hosani.
Mubarak Saqr, the Musical Leader of the Old version of the Band, said "Many members of the community have not been contemporary with the old Music band. This festival will be a good opportunity for them to see and enjoy the old music".
Mr. Omer Mohammad Ameen, Security officer at the Mall lauded ADP initiative and expressed his happiness with the evening. He hopes that it would be repeated every year to entertain shoppers and visitors of the Mall.
A French girl expressed her joy and happiness with the musical pieces played by the Band. She said "I have enjoyed Arabic and classical music in an enchanting Arab atmosphere".
The shows of the band included folk Emirati dances, Lebanese folk dances by some Lebanese young men. The show was concluded with a national military parade among big public interaction.
