ADP wins third place Civil defence wins MoI’s Volleyball Cup
Adviser Abdullah Salem bin Nasra Al Ameri, Board Director of Police Sport Association has crowned the Civil Defence Team as champions of the Minister of Interior’s Volleyball Cup in its 20th version, after scoring 3/0 win over Abu Dhabi Police GHQ team, at the finals that was organized at the Al Jazeera Sport Club Hall.
The game was attended by Brig. Saleh Al Matroushi, Director of Civil Defence Department at Ajman and member of the Police Sport Association, and Brig. Abdullah Al Suwaidi, Director General of Fire Fighting and Rescue at the General Command of Civil Defence, and Col. Abdul Malik Jani, Director of the Police Sport Association Department, Lt. Col Aref Saif Al Shamesi, Director of Sport Activities and Clubs at ADP, and a number of police officers and fans of the game.
The final ceremony started with the arrival of the patron, Director of the Police Sport Association who shook hand with the players of both teams before the national anthem was played. Then the game kicked off in a thrilling atmosphere. The Civil Defence team was determined to take the points of the game as the players ended the first round by a striking score 23/13. In the second round the ADP team has improved and about to win this round but the rivals grabbed the gamed and finished the round with 25/23 win. In the third round ADP team tried to take the result but the magnificent rivals were able to deprive ADP team from their dreams and ended the third round by 25/19. The game’s final score went to the Civil Defence team which kept the title of the championship.
Advisor Al Ameri accompanied by Brig, Al Matroushi have honored the winners of the three places, Civil Defence, Dubai Police GHQ and Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, respectively.
The Police Sport Association has offered its shield to Al Jazeera Sport Club, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, and to Ajman Sport Club. A souvenir was also presented to the ceremony’s patron.
Advisor Al Ameri has confirmed the keenness of the Ministry of Interior to support the sports in general and the championships organized by the Police Sports Association in particular. He also praised the efforts which the Association has exerted to organize this Championship, and lauded the generous gesture of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ and Ajman Police GD which hosted the Championship. He extended thanks to Al Jazeera and Ajman sport clubs which provided all necessary facilities, a matter which has contributed to the success of the Championship. He also thanked the sponsors.
