ADP recovers prints in 3782 cases over six months
The Crime Scene Department of ADP Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs has announced that it will deploy advanced sophisticated vehicles to support crime scene investigations and activities, in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.
Major Salim Khalifa Al Darie, Director of Crime Scene Department in Abu Dhabi said "Investigation Teams during the first half of this year recovered fingerprints in 3,782 cases. Of these 2,073 were in Abu Dhabi, 1,273 cases were in Al Ain and 418 cases were in the Western Region and 18 major crimes".
"Mussafah Police Station registered 409 cases, Bani Yass 385 cases, Al Shaabiah 331 cases, Al Khalidia 329 cases, Al Madinah 235 cases, Khalifa 'A' 221 cases and Al Rahba 163 cases", added Al Darie.
"In Al Ain, Industrial Police Station registered 328 cases, Al Maqam registered 294 cases, Al Madinah registered 292 cases, Al Jimi registered 286 cases and Al Sad registered 73 cases", added Al Darie.
"In the Western Region, Zayed City Police Station registered 220 cases, Al Ruweis registered 130 cases, Al Marfa registered 45 cases and Dalma registered 23 cases", added Al Darie.
"June registered the highest number of cases 684 cases, March witnessed 642 cases, January witnessed 653 cases, May 626 cases, April 615 cases and February 562 cases", added Al Darie.
The new support vehicles will be used for direct support to investigation teams. They can be used as conference room for the Silver Commander and other senior officers to identify and update emergency plans, on-site. They are equipped with all necessary items such as tents, search lights, generator, and can be used as a command headquarters during major incidents.
They are also provided with Communication Centre, Programmes to send fingerprints from crime scene to the Forensic Laboratory for examination and matching, and they can be mobilized in a record time in all climates.
