ADP recommends a committee with partners to enhance security efforts at neighborhoods

 

ADP GHQ has organized three workshops about "Security phenomena from partners' perspective", implementation of "Working parties management and evaluation approach" and implementation of "Projects management approach".

The first workshop was organized by Khalifa City Police Station in collaboration with the Community Policing Department, at al Mufraq hotel in Abu Dhabi. A number of local partners from government and private sector institutions participated in the workshop. They discussed a number of social issues of interest to the community members, which highlight their problems and best solution to them, in order to enhance security and stability and to reassure the residents.

A number of recommendations were made by the participants including: Increasing and supporting communication with partners, holding periodical meeting between partners and the Director of Operations Affairs, Director of Criminal Affairs and director of Community Policing Branch to identify best methods to solve the problems. Communication with Al Shahama Municipality Officials to follow up bachelors' accommodation, labor accommodation in residential areas, and Al Mufraq Hospital initiative regarding in-patients visits. Formation of a joint committee comprising the Community Policing and Khalifa Police Station to follow up security and social campaigns and to implement initiatives. 

The workshop started its works with a speech delivered by Lt. Colonel Abdul Noor Al Shuhi, Direct of Khalifa Police station where he welcomed the partners and appreciated their role and cooperation with ADP to maintain the community safety and security.

He said "Community participation is the best method in policing. Community members are most capable of protecting their society in cooperation with the police. People shall not afraid of the police. The police works hard to solve daily difference and problems that the community members face", added Al Shuhi. 

Captain Abdullah al Harthi, Director of the Community Policing Branch presented the topics of the workshop which included: Juvenile problems during summer vacation, presence of bachelors at the residential areas and other social issues.

The partners proposed several solutions to curb or to reduce the problems, in addition to initiatives in cooperation with the police at Khalifa City Police Station.

Major Sultan al Reisi, Director of Operations Affairs and Captain Mohammad Al Hassani, Director of Criminal Affairs participated in the discussions regarding security problems that the community faces in daily life.

The two workshops of implementation of "Working parties management and evaluation approach" and implementation of "Projects management approach" were held at Shangri-La Hotel in Abu Dhabi, in two days. A number of ADP GHQ Departments' officers and civilian employees participated in the workshops.

The first of the two workshops focused on necessity of team work to achieve excellence in services at ADP GHQ Departments' level and at the community level, through setting up bases and standards to mange working teams along with efforts to develop these teams.

The second workshop reviewed the methods of linking ADP projects with ADP GHQ strategic plan, through Projects management Office at the Directorate General of Strategy and Performance Development. The workshop aim was to promote the efficiency of ADP GHQ pe
