ADP will participate in Tal Murib (Frightening Dune) Festival which will be held during the coming days at the Western Region. ADP will showcase its motorbike the “Falcon”, and its old and modern vehicles which tell ADP progress over fifty years.
The Western region Police Directorate has prepared a programme to educate the public on genral safety means while driving motorbikes to avoid risks resulting from their driving, in addition to traffic law which organizes their use and conditions of their licensing.
Colonel Hamad Saeed Al Dhahri, Director of ADP GHQ Western region Police Directorate has affirmed the importance of abiding by general safety rules by drivers and participants in races. ADP is keen to enlarge the public awareness circle of safe driving through campaigns and different activities in partnership with the local community. Tal Murib activities coincide with the launch of the campaign which educates the public on the risks of motorbikes.
He has urged competitors to abide by motorbikes driving laws, to practise their driving skills at designated places, as strict actions will be taken against violators.
Fans and supporters existing at the Festival site are requested to abide by laws and instructions issued by police elements deployed at the site and roads leading to the site.
The Tal Murib festival gives the opportunity to enhance the concept of security and safety for all. It is also a good opportunity for acquainting the public with ADP efforts to provide general safety, in addition to giving the concept of partnership widespread.
The Western region Police will be responsible for securing the Festival site, while traffic patrols will secure the road between Liwa and Tal Murib Festival site, through intensified traffic patrols on the road, in addition to distribution of awareness posters and publications.
The existence of sharp turns and high hills require intensive presence of traffic patrols to ensure compliance with speed limits and to avoid the risks posed by reckless drivers who flout traffic rules and regulations.
Traffic patrols will also tend to organization of parking spaces, ensure that cars do not block internal passages within the Festival site the thing that makes entering and exiting process easy.
The Community Police and Public Relations Sections will market police initiatives to the public and educate them on the wrong use of places not allocated to sports races, in order to spread safe sport concept by authorities concerned. All these safety measures and procedures are to avoid any accidents and mishaps.
On the other hand 1st Lt. Abdul Muttalib al Hamadi, Director of campaigns Branch at ADP Department of Technical Affairs and Security Media said “The awareness campaign against motorbikes accidents launched by ADP bears an awareness message to all community segments, especially parents who should not allow their children to use unlicensed quad bikes or motorbikes within residential neighborhoods so as not to disturb residents and threat their safety”.
“There are some reckless teenagers who misuse motorbikes and do not realize the dangers of their behaviors. They also do not use safety means which protect them in cases of emergency”, added Al Hamadi.
