ADP opens crime scene training village next month at Ajman

 

 

ADP Directorate general of Security and Ports Affairs will open a Crime Scene Training village in Ajman next August. It will also set up database for shoes prints, vehicle tyres treads and electronic messaging system for prints, between the Crime Scene Department and forensic laboratory, said Major Salim Khalifa Al Darie, Director of Crime Scene Department and Supervisor of the village project.

The Department has received recently ISO 9001 Certificate. It is now in the process of receiving Health and Safety Procedures Certificate (QHSAS 18001). In the same conrtext it works on developing its professional and protocol relations with foreign agencies and ministries of health and justice in order to improve practicall procedures. The Department tries to train and send a number of its cadre abroad to work asd crime scene experts in the future.

The Department seeks to raise the performance of staff to world level and increase their number which is now 350 elements, 30 of them are policewomen. They are deployed to 16 Units at different comperhensive police stations in Abu Dhabi.

Al Darie has affirmed that ADP pays great attention to human cadre, especially in the light of achieved successes which reflect on work organization and coordination with many security parties which deal with crime scene. This will help in producing an integrated work which contributes to crime detection.

The Scene of the Crime Village consists of training and lecture auditoriums, crime scenarios and it is provided with advanced equipments and apparatuses required for tasks and training purposes. The Department participates in several activities organized by ADP for universities and schools students.

The Department possesses advanced equipments and technologies which include, a 360 degree camera which can take photograph for the whole scene of the crime, criminal, laser equipment to see evidences which cannot be seen with naked eye which is a state-of-the-art, Ultraviolet Rays Equipment which assists in identification of blood stains, prints, sperms and evidences on old and new vehicles paints.

The Scene of the Crime village in Abu Dhabi consists of a number of buildings. Some of them are residential villas with all their fittings and furniture to implement different models of crime scenes, control room provided with advanced scientific equipments which serve all aspects of the village, in addition to training classes. The building assists the students in theoretical and practical training.
