ADP gears up to receive 15 thousand
 pilgrims through Al Ghuwaifat Border Outlet

 

ADP GHQ, within the framework of the campaign launched by Department of Security Media, at the Secretariat General of the Office of HH the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, under the slogan "Your Safety", has completed its logistic preparations, in collaboration with civil authorities, to receive convoys of pilgrims travelling through Al Ghuwaifat Outlet to perform pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

ADP has prepared five tents near the outlet, two of them are provided with all amenities and each one of them accommodate 400 travelers, one for men and another for women. One tent is prepared for passports and customs, and two others for the use of the outlet staff.

Colonel Khamis Musabah Al Marar, Director of Ports and Airports Security Police Department of ADP Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs said "A work mechanism has been set up to deliver best services to pilgrims, lanes for buses leaving for Saudi Arabia"

Al Marar has expected that the Outlet will receive about 15 thousand pilgrims. He believes that this increase in the number of pilgrims, in comparison with past years, is because pilgrimage season this year is in the beginnings of winter, where the weather is temperate during this time of the year.

"The Outlet has made great preparations to facilitate completion of travelers' procedures quickly. The Outlet Official has held meetings with other government authorities as appropriate. The Outlets of Khatam Shakla and Mazeed in Al Ain, have geared up to receive pilgrims coming from Oman", added Al Marar.

Major Salim bin Tassa Al Amri, Head of Al Ghuwaifat Outlet Security Police Section said "ADP is keen to coordinate with all authorities concerned within the framework of the initiative (Your Safety) to deliver best services to pilgrims".

"The number of the Outlet staff has been increased and efforts have been intensified to assimilate the increase in the traffic which the Outlet witnesses during pilgrimage season. Two phone numbers have been provided for enquiries and communication with the Outlet (02 8723420) and (02 8082800), in addition to the fax number

(02 8723421)", added Al Amri

Major Al Amri has lauded the cooperation of all authorities which deliver their services to pilgrims: Customs, Western Region Municipality, Heath Services, Abu Dhabi Distribution Company Red Crescent, Al Salaa Public Hospital, Persons with Special Needs Unit and Awqaf Department. The services range between humanitarian and guiding, in addition to police services: Passports, Emergency and Public Safety, Medical Services, Civil Defence and Tareef Police Directorate.

"ADP has provided three ambulances provided with medical crews and equipment. Al; Salaa Hospital has also provided two ambulances. They deliver medical assistance to anyone who needs", added Al Amri.

ADP has provided a mobile workshop along the public road towards Al Ghuwaifat and another one inside the outlet to repair any breakdowns.
