ADP confirms the importance of child abuse crimes awareness
Major General Mohammad bin Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Director General of ADP Human Resources and Acting Director General of Policing Operations has confirmed that ADP works very hard to reach the highest degrees of excellence to be the best example of policing in the world with global standards that suit our cultural, social and environmental characteristics in accordance with our Police Higher Leadership. This statement was delivered on behalf of him by Colonel Mohammad Al Hosani, Deputy Director of ADP Social Support Centers Department, on the occasion of Child Abuse Forum.
The Forum was organized by the Directorate general of Policing Operations represented by the Department of Social Support Centers at ADP. Brigadier Omeir Al Miheiri, Deputy Director general of Policing Operations, Experts from UK, a number of ADP Officers and Social Support Centers Staff. The Forum was intended to highlight the importance of being aware of child abuse crimes.
A number of working paper was delivered during the Forum by experts from UK: Mr. Jim Gamble, Executive manager of British Organization of Child Protection against Exploitation Online. Such crimes require in the first place understanding of criminals nature. Parents and children should be educated on the forms of abuse and how to avoid them.
The second paper was delivered by Mr. Jordan Bridges, Commander of Child Protection Unit at the Metropolitan Police. The paper title was "Cooperation and Coordination between Authorities concerned with child issues". He showed that children were exposed to abuse by their relatives, teachers or those who were responsible for their protection.
The first session was chaired by Brigadier (Dr.) Saeed Saif Al Alawi from the office of the Director General of Policing Operations. The second session was chaired by Lt. Colonel Thani Batty Al Shamsi, Director of ADP Training Department.
The first paper of the second session was delivered by Mr. Tim Garish Head and Director of Training Department and Director of International Network for Child Protection. The paper talked about "International Cooperation and Internet Networks". The second paper was presented by Mr. Mohammad Al Dhanhawi, Director of Family Prosecution Department in Abu Dhabi. It was on Children issues in Abu Dhabi Emirate. He spoke about the type of crimes that children face. He also spoke about the role of family Prosecution Department in child crimes.
At the end of the Forum the representative of UK embassy to the UAE thanked ADP for hosting the British experts and the continuous cooperation between the two parties.
