Ambulance Section at The Abu Dhabi Police’s Emergency and Public Safety Department is implementing the largest round-the-year public awareness campaign themed ‘ambulance and the community’.
Covering first aids, and other public safety-related issues, the campaign is offered in Arabic, English and Urdu.

Head of ambulance section, Major Buti Khalifa al Mazrouei, said the campaign included both awareness and education domains, in addition to delivering the correct message directly to the public in different languages so that it becomes more effective.
He added: Field taskforces from sub-sections in Abu Dhabi, Al Mafraq and Al Shahama have been formed. They presented lectures on first aids and the correct actions to be taken during emergency situations. The lectures targeted students, employees at companies, government and private institutions, Quran memorizing centers, petrol companies and police departments.
Target segments were able to deal with house incidents such as burns, fractures, minor wounds, suffocation, fever, swallowing of hard objects in addition to handling of emergency cases such as angina and complications of chronic diseases, said head of Abu Dhabi Ambulance sub section, First Lt Mohammed Nasser Al Bahri.
First Lit Saif Jumaa al Kaabi, head of Al Shahama Ambulance sub-section said the campaign focused on the right steps to be followed while calling 999. In order to reduce response time, workers have been involved in mock scenarios to know how ambulance is requested.
Ambulance vehicles are operating round the clock, while central operation room remains fully prepared to receive all kind of repots sent to the sub-section, stated head of Al Mafraq ambulance, First Lt. Talib Saeed Al Shamesi.
Ambulance section’s role is not only limited to delivery of ambulance services, it also educate the members of the public and provide them with all skills they need to know about the importance of first aids and the role of ambulance in decreasing fatality rate and curbing the complications resulting from accidents and injuries, taking geographical and urban expansion into account, he further emphasized.
