Abu Dhabi Police continued its 41st National Day celebrations, marked by planting the tree of the Union.
At the Guards and Special Tasks Directorate General, the ceremonies included a number of events, reflecting the staff’s joy on this special occasion.
Brigadier Fares Khalifa Obaid Al Farsi, Director General, stated that many hopes and aspirations have been achieved under the higher leadership, and under the banner of the Union. This banner is and has always been, flying high on the international scene; reflecting unparalleled glory; as well as national unity, unrivaled in modern history.
The ceremony was attended by Colonel Mubarak Abdullah Al Muhairi, Director of (Q7); Colonel Rashid Suhail, Director of Special tasks Department; and Colonel Saleh Al Rashidi, Director of Government and Diplomatic Facilities Protection Department, as well as a number of retired officers; non-commissioned officers; individuals; Directorate staff and strategic partners.
During the ceremony, a documentary was shown; highlighting the tasks and functions of the Directorate, and retired Officers were honored in recognition of their efforts throughout their years of service. Distinguished employees and strategic partners participating in the ceremony were also honored.
Brigadier Al Farsi, accompanied by the attendees, planted the Tree of the Union. He also inaugurated the photo exhibition, and viewed the Heritage Village exhibits. The Directorate also provided live performances of its activities, presented by the Riot Control unit; VIP Protection unit and the Equestrian Activity section.
The directorate’s strategic partners also took part in the celebration, namely; MASDAR and Takatof; the UAE Football Association; the Abu Dhabi karate, wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu club; the Al Wahda Club; Al Jazira Club; the Bani Yas Club; and the Emirates Heritage Club, which organized a photo exhibition on the history of the UAE.
Moreover, as part of the National Day celebrations, the Criminal Evidence Department of Abu Dhabi Police organized a ceremony, with the participation of students from a number of primary schools. Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director, recalled the first moments in the life of the Union, and the role of H.H late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in achieving the UAE unity, with the help of his brothers, Their Highnesses, the Sheikhs of the Emirates. He also shed light on the development and progress process, which is being led by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, alongside his brothers Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and rulers of the Emirates.
The Director of the Criminal Evidence Department also shed light on the security process to which the Union has devoted considerable attention, for its vital role in development. He also highlighted the role of the police leadership in achieving a quantum leap with respect to performance and capacity of the Ministry of Interior and the police institutions in the state, by adopting modern police concepts, providing modern and sophisticated security services.
The celebration was attended by Colonel Hassan Al Hosni, Deputy Director of the Criminal Evidence Department, and a number of officers.
School students, participating in the celebration, gave several presentations and heritage performances, including the Youla dance, patriotic songs, reflecting the Arab heritage and the Emirates Unity.
