ADP Music Band attracts big turnout at the Marina Mall
ADP Music band has aroused the feelings of the Marina Mall visitors yesterday evening, Thursday, on the occasion of the band 47th anniversary. The audiences were carried away by the Band performance and they broke into rapturous applause when the band played the song of “Allah Ya Dar Zayed’ (Hooray Zayed’s Home).
The Music band was present with all its elements in its old and modern versions. It was divided into two parts. The first was the modern which is characterized by the classical orchestra and the second was ADP Music band of 1963.
The evening started with a military parade titled “Al Medan” (Public square) at the Mall entrance. The public were amazed and followed the Band to the center of the Mall to enjoy the music which ranged from Emirati heritage, to Arabic songs and world symphonies such as “The new recruit’ and “Under the sea”. The Band played alternately between the old and modern version of the Band. It left music lovers spoilt for choice.
Captain Ibrahim Abdul Rahim Ismaeel Al Hosani, Head of Music section at the Police Schools Department in Abu Dhabi said “This evening is organized on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of ADP Music Band. The musical evenings will continue for a week. There will be another evening at the Marina Mall, on Friday. The third evening will be at Al Khaldiyah Mall. Then al Ain Mall on Monday, July 5. On Tuesday 6, the evening will be held at the City Mall in the Western Region”.
“ADP Music band role is not limited to military marches and tunes, but it entertains community members and reduces life stresses. Organization of this musical evening is within the framework of communication with different community events and activities. It indicates that ADP keeps pace with new developments and modern trends”, added Al Hosani.
The audience interaction
The audience attended the event expressed its astonishment and admiration for the show. They considered it an evening to lessen life pressures on them. One Algerian lady took a photo for her kids with the band. She said ‘I am amazed and do not believe what I see. But I enjoyed the evening with my children”.
A Sudanese lady said “I have come here with my girls for shopping. But we have not done any shopping, but we sit to enjoy the evening. ADP is always in the lead when it comes to joining community activities and events.
Two British tourists who attended the evening said “We have come here to enjoy the calm atmosphere of Abu Dhabi, but we have not expected that the police organization officers mix with the public and participate in such events”.
It is worth mentioning that ADP Music Band is considered one of the old bands in the region. It is the first music band in Abu Dhabi Emirate. It was established in 1963 with 50 players. It now consists of 130 innovative players.
