The Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications at the Directorate General of Central Operations of Abu Dhabi Police has launched the Information Technology Award for Excellence 2012, at its first edition for the current year.
This was announced by Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations of Abu Dhabi Police, who explained that the Award is divided into two categories, one for the employees at the Department of information Technology and Telecommunications, and the other for the departments of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police and their employees, as well as the institutions and external partners collaborating with the Department.
According to Al Raisi, the Award contributes to supporting the strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi Police, to realize the vision of the Government of Abu Dhabi 2030, and in order to develop the IT Department services, apply the best local and global practices in the field of corporate and job excellence, and increase satisfaction of employees and customers, apart from developing the positive sense among employees and encourage them to be committed to excellence.
For his part, Col. Anwar Abdullah Al Mulla, Director of Information Technology and Telecommunication of Abu Dhabi Police, said that the Award is launched to confirm the support of police leadership for human development efforts, and modernization in various fields, to help motivate employees to excel in overall performance, and unleash positive spirit of competition and various development initiatives.
The Department first award known as “first category award” will be dedicated to the employees of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. It is made up of 16 subcategories and intended for sections, individuals and taskforces, and is awarded to those who have had outstanding contributions to the achievement of corporate excellence and sustainable development of performance towards quality and excellence.
The Department second award, known as “second category award”, consists of 6 different subcategories. It will be allocated to the departments of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police and their employees, in addition to the institutions and external partners who have had strong contributions to the institutional change and sustainable development of performance towards quality and excellence.
He said that a team from the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications will make field visits to the general directorates and the various departments of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, to hold a number of workshops and lectures to promote and educate these departments about the award and its system, and to respond to inquiries related to the award.
He added: According to the decision of the Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications, the annual Award will be given to the best candidates for the first and second categories in 16 different fields of excellence namely, model section, model employee, human resources, customer service, environment, health and safety, creativity and innovation, scientific research, best team, optimal use of electronic services, shared social responsibility and the best strategic initiative team,.
While the second award category includes 6 awards namely: Award of Cooperating Department, and is given to the departments of the General headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police, which contributed to achieving remarkable development or cooperation in a particular area of work.
