The Abu Dhabi Police introduced the electric emergency motorcycle to its service in order to provide first aid to injured persons and patients in crowded areas. The use of this motorcycle will reduce the duration required to reach and help them avoid complications.

The motorcycle’s speed reaches 20 kilometers per hour and is equipped with an electric battery enabling it to make a distance of 39 kilometers per hour. It weighs 42 kg and can bear a load of 117 kgs. It is also equipped by developed environmentally friendly first aid devices.
 
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations inaugurated the electric emergency motorcycle in Marina Mall so that it can start offering its services with its modern equipment.

Major General Al Raisi highlighted the Police Leadership’s commitment to improve and develop services in all sectors in order to meet the citizens and residents’ requirements and needs through its advanced services pack, including the “emergency service.” Aiding the public and society’s protection is among the Ministry of Interior’s foremost concerns; this motorcycle reflects the visions of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to provide the best services.

He said: “The electric emergency motorcycle enables the medics who work onboard to promptly reach the injured in crowded places and provide them with the required first aid.”

Maj. Gen. Al Raisi affirmed that the emergency services at Abu Dhabi Police comply with the international developed standards and receive attention of the Police Leadership that provides the needed support to maintain pace with the latest developments and the modern means in the emergency field. The quality of service was improved by providing the latest devices in addition to raising workers’ competence by offering them training opportunities in various emergency topics abroad.

For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Amiri, Head of Public Safety and Emergency Department in Abu Dhabi Police pointed out that the electric emergency motorcycle will be deployed in malls, on the Corniche, and in the exhibition and event locations. “It works very efficiently to supplement the emergency services provided by Abu Dhabi Police and to quickly access the injured and patients when they request the service,” he continued.

Major Bati Khalifa Al Mazrou’i, Chief of Emergency Section in the Public Safety and Emergency Department explained that the electric emergency motorcycle is more capable to move through traffic in crowded areas and could reduce the duration of time required to reach and help the injured. It offers first aid services for patients; he added that it was equipped with a defibrillator device, oxygen, and equipment for testing vital signs, blood sugar, and pressure.

He stated that this motorcycle is environmentally friendly and compatible with the ADP project for the rehabilitation of departments in order to implement the professional safety and environmental and health management system in addition to using the best sustainable environmental practices.

On the sidelines of the electric emergency motorcycle’s inauguration, the Public Safety and Emergency Department offered medical tests by testing the blood pressure and sugar for citizens and residents at the Marina Mall. It also organized competitions for children on emergency topics and an atelier to showcase their artistic creations.

Major General Al Raisi toured the exhibition, attended an artificial respiration process conducted by a child and was finally briefed on the children’s drawings.
