A MOU between ADP and Emirates Transport
HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy prime Minister and Minister of Interior has witnessed the signing ceremony of a MOU between Abu Dhabi Police and Emirates Public Authority for Transport and Services (Emirates Transport), regarding cooperation and preparedness for Disasters. The ceremony was attended by HE Hameed Mohammad Obeid Al Qattami, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Authority Board of Managers, Major general Nasser La Khreibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of HH's Office and a number of officers.
Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, Director General of Central Operations signed for ADP and Mr. Mohammad Abdullah Al Jermyn signed for Emirates Transport.
According to Al Risi, this step is within the framework of HH's vision and support to cooperate with concerned parties to prepare for major accidents and disasters. This is part of Abu Dhabi Emirate approach to become one of the best 5 governments in the world. By this the government can implement effective government strategy and crises management.
The MOU identifies cooperation areas between ADP and Emirates Transport. This includes nomination of one coordinator for each party, exchange of information and annual report on cooperation activities. By this we can promote Abu Dhabi preparedness to limit the impact of disasters.
The MOU includes the tasks and duties of ADP in handling fires, neutralizing the risks resulting from fuel and chemicals leakage. Also the MOU specifies the use of specialized rescue equipment in collaboration with the Civil Defence and Ambulance. It also specifies response coordination on incident scene protection needs.
