31 Infiltrators busted at Sharjah Industrial Area
Dh 2m fine on an Arab national who accommodated them
Some of the infiltrators during the police raid resorted to naïve methods to hide from police eye, as some of them hid inside plastic buckets of big size. The place where they were caught was in a labour accommodation in Sharjah Industrial Area.
According to Major General Nasser Al Awadhi Al Minhali, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs at the MoI, the Section of Violators and Foreigners Follow up in Sharjah, was able, as part of MoI inspection campaigns, to arrest 31 infiltrators, all of them were Asians, in a labour accommodation in Sharjah Industrial Area. The Arab national who accommodated them, identified as "A. Aa", was arrested also. He was sentenced to 2 months imprisonment and deportation after serving his jail term, in addition to Dh 2m fine. Al Minhali promised that these campaigns would continue day and night including those who accommodate them.
Major Salim Huraymil Al Shamsi, Head of Violators and Foreigners Follow up Section in Sharjah, explained the details of the incident. The police received a tip about the existence of some infiltrators in a labor accommodation in Sharjah Industrial Area. Accordingly the police stormed the accommodation and arrested the offenders. After investigations they entered the country by land. The above Arab national accommodated them and drafted their lease contracts. He urged the nationals and residents to report any infiltrator or violator on "Sahim" Service phone (80080).
It is worth mentioning that illegal entry to UAE will entail two months imprisonment and affine of Dh 100,000, for any one who employee or accommodate an infiltrator. Any Owner of an establishment who employs a foreigner, not under his sponsorship, will pay Dh 50,000 in fine.
