2000 visitors celebrate the International Children Day at Kids Park
The children Kids Park at Al Bahya Area in Abu Dhabi received large number of visitors during Eid Adha holiday, to enjoy the activities and events offered by the Park.
2000 visitors from families and children on Saturday witnessed the activities and festivities organized by the Park on the occasion of International Children Day. They enjoyed recreational and educational atmospheres and played with tamed animals and acquainted themselves with their type of living.
The activities included shows of giant cartoon movies toys. The children played and danced with them, and shared them drawings on faces. Many families accompanying their children expressed their happiness with the activities and lauded the different sections of the Park.
Mark Rite, Manger of the Park said "The weather now is good for visiting the Park. More than ten thousand visitors of children and their families visited the Park during Eid holiday".
"The Park management wanted to create distinguished celebrations on the occasion of the International Children Day. They all enjoyed watching snakes, lions, turtles and other animals in the Park. They enjoyed feeding the animals. The Park would introduce new kinds of animals during the coming period, including giraffes, which would attract large number of kids", added Rite.
The Kids Park has become a member of Association of Zoos and Aquariums and International Zoo Educators Association. It forms an attractive recreational environment; it is 27,000 square meters in area, at al Bahya Area in Abu Dhabi. It is designed to the latest world-class style. It creates friendly and enjoyable atmosphere for families and their children. The visitors can watch closely all kinds of tamed animals, in addition to educational and recreational means within heritage framework to instill the national identity.
The Park includes animals from all over the world and the local environment. It has a theatre, movie hall, lecture room, restaurant, prayer place and clinic. It acquaints children and their families with wild animals, sea animals, reptiles, birds and butterflies. It includes more than100 types of tamed animals from different environments and regions, fishes, reptiles, monkeys, dogs, wild animals and birds. What characterizes Kids Park is that it provides the public, especially children with experience of direct contact with animals, which enhances their self-confidence, not like other such parks where there is a barrier between people and animals. Tourist guides accompany the visitors and answer children questions.
UN General Assembly recommended in 1954 that all countries should organize a world day for children, and to be considered a day for friendship and understanding between children. All countries should work for children welfare and prosperity. UN allowed world countries to celebrate this day on the date which suit them. <
