Fourteen bodies of the Abu Dhabi Police communicated with the students’ community and introduced its roles, during its participation in the “Your Safety is Our Goal” campaign. The campaign was recently held at the Abu Dhabi Men's College - Higher Colleges of Technology.
 
The campaign included various lectures and events, as well as cultural competitions that were organized by the Community Police Department, the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks, the Social Support Centers, the Anti-Narcotics Section, the Crime Scene, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate, the Security Inspection Department K9, the Music Unit, the Civil Defense Department, the Emergency and Public Safety Department, the Equestrian Section, and the Information Technology Department, as well as the UAE Heritage Village and the Sheikh Zayed Museum.
 
The Community Role
First Lieutenant Nariman Taleb Al Ajami, Head of the Community Police Branch in the Al Shaabiya Police, the organizer of the campaign, said that the campaign activities establish the police role in the community and enhance the vision and strategy of the Ministry of Interior, which calls for the cohesion of the community through implementing the motto: “The Police is at the Service of the People.”
 
She pointed out the huge turnout and the significant attendance of students and teachers indicates the importance of the role played by the community police in public life. She also noted that organizing this campaign is part of a series of campaigns organized by the Al Shaabiya Police. The idea was first implemented at the Al Mustaqbal School, then at Al Dana School; it was then upgraded to reach the university level as the Higher Colleges of Technology was chosen as a starting point for university-level engagement for its importance and its role in graduating high level national cadres. The campaign will continue its series of shows to include all schools and colleges at the level of the emirate.
 
The Crime Scene
Captain Sabah Salem Al Tawashi, Crime Scene Officer, said that the goal of its department’s participation is to introduce students to the Crime Scene Village and its role in solving crimes and curbing incidences of crime. She described  crime science as the silent witness.
 
She mentioned that students were introduced to the methodology of handling various security developments and how to protect society from crime and its negative impact. She further highlighted that the Crime Scene Village, which was founded in 2005, is the first-of-its-kind in the Middle East.
 
Al Tawashi stated that targeting the younger students to spread the culture of crime scene awareness indicates that this group is the hope of the nation whose arms will build the country and have a major role in realizing the motto, “Towards a Crime-free Community.”
 
In the same context, Lieutenant Sheikha Al Zaabi, Head of the Staff Affairs Department in the Directorate General of Guards and Special Task, said that its participation in this campaign is in line with other introductory and educational initiatives. She explained that the students were introduced to the roles and tasks of the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks as it is one of the security arms of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ; its ongoing claim is to help keep security and stability in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
 
Al Zaabi said that this lecture, which was attended by many students, shed light on the various divisions of the directorate and informed the students about the different tasks of each division.
