“Western Region Police’ organizes service exhibitions at the Camel Festival

ADP GHQ participates in the activities of Al Dhafra camel Festival, which will run until 25th of this month. Mohammad Khalaf Al Mazroui, Director General of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, has lauded ADP GHQ efforts in making of the Festival a success through its traffic patrols which organizes traffic flow and other police elements which ensure the safety and security of the public.

Colonel Hamad Saeed bin Tarees al Dhahri, Director of Western Region Police Directorate at ADP GHQ said “We have opened a number of police exhibitions at the Festival site, within the framework of activating communication and cooperation with major partners and to contribute to community activities”.

“The Directorate is keen to participate in all activities and events held at the Western Region to acquaint the public with the role of different police departments, services delivered to the public and initiatives targeting the community to enhance trust in police”, added bin Tarees.

“The Directorate ensures the safety and security of the Festival, visitors and participants, through an integrated police team..There are two ambulance and rescue vehicles, three civil defence vehicles, 14 traffic patrols to ensure safety on roads, three CID patrols, two Community Police patrols and a team of public relations to assist visitors and participants”, added bin Tarees.

‘There are three specialized police exhibitions: One for crime scene to acquaint the public with crime scene techniques, investigations and recovery of evidences. The second is concerned with Clubs and Sports Activities Department and its role in relevant activities. The third is for traffic awareness organized by the Traffic and Patrols Section, in collaboration with Traffic and Patrols Directorate and Police Stations. The tent erected by the Community Police and Public Relations Sections assist the Festival visitors and participants”, added bin Tarees.

Also there is a temporary police station to deliver different policing and security services to the public. Moreover, there is a mobile workshop to assist vehicles which meet with some technical or mechanical problems, in addition to towing services, to ensure traffic flow in the location. Colonel al Dhahri has urged all visitors and participants to abide by organizational rules, to communicate with the Security Committee which will be available at different locations of the Festival site for assistance. The public are also requested to cooperate with police elements and patrols and to abide by traffic rules and regulations by using the roads and car parks dedicated to visitors and the public.

Motorists are also requested to drive at low speeds as there will be large number of camels in the area, in addition to the competitions.
