"UAE Rescue Team" begins its test drills to get international classification
Al Shaafar: Assisting harmed countries in a dignified manner

 

Under the patronage of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior the UAE Search and Rescue Team has started its practical tests to get UN International Classification (INSARAG) in the presence of International Judges and Supervisors.

Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Shaafar, MoI Undersecretary has opened the programme in the Criminal Investigation Department Conference Room. The event was attended by Major general Khaleel Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Risi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police and a number of ADP officers. In his speech Al Shaafar welcomed the International Judges and Supervisors and extended to them the greetings of HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The UAE Team had received much care and unlimited support from HH. The Team delivered its services to many friendly nations, in line with UAE humanitarian efforts.

Lt. Colonel Mohammad Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the Team Leader, Lt. Colonel Jamal Habash, Deputy Team Leader, Major Mohammad Abdul Jaleel Al Anssari, the Regional Chairman of INSARAG for Europe, Africa and Middle East Sector and all members of the Team presented the efforts made by the Team contributions and responses to earth quakes in Pakistan, Indonesia, Afghanistan and other places. The Team is provided with advance capabilities by UAE government. They reviewed the logistical capabilities of the Team which allow it work for one week , 24 hours a day and its formations.

The questions of the judges and supervisors were answered fully by the Team members and leaders. It included mobilization of capabilities in accordance with international standards. The Judges Team asked about future development vision and proposals. The Team presented on spot practical answer to these enquiries.
