"Friends of Police" are getting to know the tasks of 5 departments at Abu Dhabi Police
During its second session, the group of police friends visited a number of Departments at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ including Forensic Evidence, Crime Scene, Emergency and Public Safety, Security Inspection, Traffic and Portals at Abu Dhabi Police.
These visits come within the initiative of “Hope Plant “, which was launched by Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior to instill a positive citizenship spirit in the young people, and to create a good generation which will contribute to achieve the security and stability of the society as well getting the persons with disabilities integrated with their healthy peers.
Brigadier Eng. Hassan Ahmad Al Harithi, Director of traffic and Patrols described this initiative, which is being implemented by the Security Media Department, as an initiative of humanity which aims to focus on people with disability, and to offer the best solutions, programs and services to these people.
Captain Jumaa Al Hosani, from Public Affairs at Traffic and Portals Directorate, delivered a simple explanation about traffic basics, and the best way in road usage and vehicle driving. He also explained the meaning of different traffic signs and their role in regulating traffic.
Col. Mohammed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Director of Emergency and Public Safety Department, accompanied a group Police friends in a tour in an ambulance vehicle, and he showed them the equipments and techniques which the rescue and firemen use at Abu Dhabi Police.
Col. Abdul Rahman Mohammed Al Hammadi, Director of Forensic Evidence Department, has met the children and explained to them that the police officer is a friend of everyone, and clarified the importance of his work in the society to protect lives and properties. He also urged them to continue their studying, to increase their own knowledge and to have a goal for them to achieve.
Lt .Col Maryam Ahmad Qassem, Chief of forensic biology Section, has delivered a lecture about health and safety in both home and street, and presented the safety procedures while dealing with blood samples such as the use of gloves, clothes and masks.
A group of police fiends has also visited the Security Inspection Department "K9" to know their tasks. Major Saeed Khalifa bin Rakkadh, Chief of Security Inspection Department at Abu Dhabi, has explained the department work and services which police dogs offer in crime detection. He answered the question raised by the children regarding the dogs, their breeding and obeying trainer’s orders.
