Western Region Police Directorate called on visitors and participants in the International Liwa Festival “Tal Moreeb” to be extremely cautious when entering the desert area leading up to the race site at Tal Moreeb.
Colonel Ajil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate explained that the motorbikes and cars race currently organized raises enthusiasm among visitors, encouraging some to carry out acrobatic stunts on the site.
Furthermore, he stressed that the police presence aims primarily to prevent any risks to the lives of visitors, and help them avoid the obstacles they may face, particularly first time visitors; in order to guide them to passable routes to the site.
He also urged participants and visitors to abide by the police entities instructions and signboards; not to wander deep into the rugged sandy areas, or try to climb the sand dunes. He also called on them to contact the Western Region Police Directorate’s mobile mechanical workshop at the Festival site, which provides various technical and mechanical services for stalled vehicles.

The Western Region Police Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ organized an exhibition of old police photos, on the sidelines of the International Liwa Festival “Tal Moreeb”. The photos tell the history of achievements and tasks immortalized in photos, through security and community participations provided by Abu Dhabi Police throughout its history, which earned it a prominent status in the hearts of citizens and residents alike.
Colonel Ajil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate said that the exhibition aims to document the historical moments of Abu Dhabi Police, and to acquaint the public with the illustrious image of its rich history, characterized with excellence and giving.
Furthermore, he explained that the exhibition chronicles the various stages of police work that the public is unaware of or cannot perceive in comparison with what is available today and the immense potential at its disposal.
He added that, despite the difficult circumstances in the past, the police institution have had a significant role in providing security and maintaining the safety of citizens and property throughout its history.
The exhibition witnessed a large turnout of visitors, who viewed dozens of photos that shed light on the history of the police; the various workplaces in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi; as well as drawing a comparison between the past and present in the police work process and its development in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
