Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior reviewed the modern equipment used to develop the infrastructure project at the Khatm Al Malaha border point, Kalba City, Sharjah. The project aims to facilitate and enhance the services provided by the Ministry of Interior using the best standards in order to keep up with the increasing number of passengers entering and exiting between the United Arab of Emirates and the Sultanate of Oman.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior was briefed on the procedures taken to process the passengers’ movement through the point in order to bring the services to the highest levels.
During his visit, Lt. General Al Sha’far was accompanied by Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the Dubai Residency and Foreigners Affairs General Directorate.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior was received by Colonel Salem Ali Al Mezaini, Director of Resources and Support Services Department; Colonel Abdul Aziz Al Qutairi, Director of the Entry Permits and Residence Department; Colonel Abdul Rahman Saho, Director of Border Points Passports Department; Colonel Ali Jum’a, Head of Khatm Al Malaha Passport Control Section; and a number of officers from the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah and the Sharjah Police General Headquarters.
Lt. General Al Sha’far was also briefed on the check and search procedures and manner of addressing any obstacles. He also reviewed the new buildings of the Khatm Al Malaha center and the facilities attached to it.
Lt. General Al Sha’far stressed on benefitting from all possible capacities and facilities in order to develop police work and enhance paperwork processing and facilitate procedures to deliver distinguished services to travelers.
Engineer Major Abdul Hakim Salem Al Tamimi, Head of Engineering and Designs Division and Manager of the Project, said: “The roads and infrastructure works executed at the border point, in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works, aim to increase the center’s capacity and facilitate the services that the Ministry of Interior deliver to the public. Continuous development will be performed on the center and all supportive services provided to make the movement between the two countries a seamless process and show the civilized face of the country.”
