The Ministry of the Interior (MoI) has entered the UAE logo in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest in the world to be made from date seeds.
Major General Dr Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, director of the General Department of Quality Management at Dubai Police and the team leader of the Sheikh Khalifa Programme for Government Excellence at MoI, received the certificate, stating that the UAE had entered the record book for having the world’s largest logo from Engineer Talal Omar, Adjudication Manager of Guinness World Records.
As part of the National Day celebrations, a team from the MoI has been working for over two months to finish the 160-metre long logo, made from 1.4 million date seeds. The logo achieved its goals thanks to the support by Lt. General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minster and Minster of Interior who suggested that the ministry presents to UAE leadership and people an art work featuring their heritage.
Al Obaidly praised the cooperation efforts of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain Municipalities, Al Foah Dates Company, Al Ain-based Emirates National School and Secure Company.
Handover ceremony was attended by Brigadier Mohammed Nehkairah, director of Human Rights Department, Colonel Mohammed Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, director of strategy and performance development at the Ministry of Interior, Colonel Saud Al Saedi, Director of the secretariat Department of the Secretariat- General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minster and Ministry of Interior and a number of officers and invitees.
