An office of ADP Society Service Department was opened Tuesday evening at the headquarters of Emirates Driving School at Al Musaffah. The opening
was witnessed by Major General Khalil Dawood Badran, Director General of Finance and Services at Abu Dhabi Police.
Drivers wishing to have their black points reduced and their one-year long confiscated driving licenses given back may register at the office and join a rehab program designed for that purpose.
In collaboration with Security Media Department, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police will launch an awareness media campaign shortly.
The campaign themed “make your driving free from black points” is organized within the efforts of the Abu Dhabi Police to develop traffic safety program in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, through enhancing levels of traffic safety and correcting the behavior of violating drivers.
Attended the opening ceremony were Dr. Tayeib Kamali, chairman of board of directors of Emirates Driving Company, Rashed Salim Lekhrebani Al Nuaimi, Deputy Chairman of board of directors, Lt. Col Saif Obeid Al Kheli, director of Social Service Department at Abu Dhabi Police and a number of officials.
According to Lt. Colonel Al Kheli, the program, being implemented in collaboration with Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police, is targeting violating drivers whose points exceeded 24 points for three consecutive times. It also targets those drivers who want to reduce their points which are below 24 points level. Drivers holding temporary licenses whose licenses have been confiscated may also benefit from this program.
Registration at the office of the Society Service Department is continuous throughout the year, stated Al Kheli.
