Traffic System at Al Khaleej Al Arabi Road signal is changed
The Department of Traffic Engineering and Road safety at ADP Traffic and Patrols Directorate announced that changes were made to the functioning system of traffic signals on Al Khaleej Al Arabi Road with effect from the evening of 11 May 2009.
The changes covered the area from (IP135) the Intersection of Al Khaleej Al Arabi and Al Saada Roads to (IP 5A) the Intersection of Al Khaleej Al Arabi and Zayed the First Roads. These changes would increase the flow of the traffic going inside and outside Abu Dhabi City.
Lt. Colonel (Engineer) Hussein Ahmed Al Harthi, Director of Traffic Engineering and Road safety Department stated that, the changes have been made after celebrate study and analysis of volume of traffic on that area of Al Khaleej Al Arabi Road round the clock. The aim of this step to reduce traffic jams and bottle necks on such an arterial road.
According to Al Harthi the changes were made in coordination with the Automatic Control Centre of Traffic Signals at Abu Dhabi Municipality and ADP Operations Room. The changes involve opening of the traffic for the vehicle going ahead, then for the vehicles going to the left. The old system was opening for all directions at the same time. He urged road users to comply with new traffic system.
