The Abu Dhabi police in cooperation with Abu Dhabi airport customs foiled an attempt to smuggle multiple forms of inscriptions, rings, strings and incense used in the practice of magic and voodoo.
An Asian man was arrested trying to get them into Abu Dhabi “B.H.L, 47- year old, was detained while entering the country via Abu Dhabi airport on an employment visa,” said Colonel Rashid Bu Rasheed, head of Organized Crime Section in the Abu Dhabi Police, Criminal Investigation Department .
“Law enforcement officials at the airport got suspicious and checked the Asian’s luggage when they found inscriptions in unknown languages and suspicious tools that he seems to be using in magic and voodoo. These items include water pens, colored inks, rings, plastic and metal needles, paper scraps with weird signs, incense, perfumes, oils herbs, plates, cans in metals and plastic containing liquid,” Colonel Bu Rasheed explained.
The smuggler stated that the liquid is just Saffron that is used, with the help of Quran, to do and undo magic.
“He claimed that he has been working in this job for 30 years in his home country, offering his help for a small amount of money. He said this is the first time he visits the UAE, and also said that the articles found with him were simply forgotten in his luggage as he was in a hurry,” Colonel Bu Rasheed added.
Bu Rasheed noted that the suspect was detained and his tools were seized by the competent authorities for further action against him. Law enforcement officials fend off anyone trying to harm people in their health and in their other affairs, he added.
Colonel Bu Rasheed called on the society members to keep away from suspicious situations, and abstain from falling and getting trapped by such people who pretend to solve personal problems by undoing magic. He called on them to cooperate with the police and report such people to rid the society of their evils.
