Successful mock drill at Al Wahda Hotel


The Emergency and Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police recently carried out a successful mock fire drill at Grand Millennium Al Wahda Hotel.

Some sections from the Emergency and Public Safety Department, civil defense units, traffic patrols and a security media patrolling vehicle took part in the drill.

“This operation is part of the strategic plan Abu Dhabi Police are adopting to maintain safety and security of the society,” First Lieutenant Abdullah Al Saghiri, Director of Planning Section at the Emergency and Public Safety Department who was supervising the operation, said.

The mock operation started when the central room received a tip off at 9:00 am about a fire at Grand Millennium Al Wahda Hotel. Immediately, ambulances, rescue and fire control vehicles rushed to the scene. The operation took one hour and 220 employees at the Hotel were evacuated and rescued.

Officials at the Hotel praised the drills carried out by the Emergency and Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police in collaboration with concerned bodies.
