40 students from Al Bawadi School for Boys, recently visited the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of Lieutenant General H.H Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior. They also made a visit to the Security Inspection Department, the “Q9” at Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters and the Police College Headquarters as part of the Abu Dhabi Police initiatives in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Education Council.
The students were received at the Security Media Department by Colonel Said Hussein Al Khaja, Deputy Director General of Technical Affairs and Security Media, in addition to a number of officers and heads of departments.
Al Khaja gave the students a comprehensive overview of the Department and briefed them on its tasks and goals to reduce and fight crime, to promote security and trust, obtain the satisfaction of the public and elevate security awareness through a comprehensive and efficient communication between its branches and divisions.
At the Police College, the students met Lieutenant Hassan Ali AL Badawi, Public Relations Officer, who gave them a brief overview about the college. They also watched a short documentary on the Police College Strategy, and then viewed the tasks of the crime scene village. Later, the Bawadi School students accompanied the College’s students on a tour at the College’s library and enjoyed a number of Arabic traditional tunes played by the Police music band. It’s worth noting that some of the talented students participated in playing some instruments.
The students’ delegation visited the Security Inspection Department at the Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs (K9) dressed in police costumes, where First Lieutenant Hamad Mubarak Al Azizi from the (k9) presented a brief presentation about the nature of police and security work and the role of the Security Inspection Department in promoting security.
The students got acquainted with the tasks of the department and the role of the police dogs in uncovering crimes. They watched interesting shows for police dogs and their trainers, such as obedience presentations, jumping over barriers, identifying numbers as well as vertical configurations and other presentations which showed their skills.
For his part, the social expert Abdullah Baslib, from Al Bawadi Elementary School, praised the Abu Dhabi Police initiatives towards the students and its keenness to educate them on security issues. He also explained that Al Bawadi School dedicates every Sunday for Police training, whereas the students wear police costumes and PE teacher Osama Farouq trains them on marching, order and discipline, and provides them with cultural information highlighting their role in society and the role of police forces in providing security and safety for society and its individuals.
