The activities of the “Police Friends” Program which aims to raise the awareness of 70 students of the children of police officers, from different school stages in Al Ain started today. The program also aims to introduce the students to tasks and services of the police, and motivate them towards creativity and innovation.

Colonel Hareb Khamis Al Khaili, Director of Al Ain Police Officers Club said that the Police Friends Program includes a set of religious, social, guiding, sports and entertainment activities, as well as visits to policing sites.

He added that: “we took into consideration that the program includes the aspects that are useful for the students in accordance with their ages, as well separating the activities of boys from the activities of girls”. He also referred to the provision of services that meet the students’ needs at the club.

Moreover, he mentioned that the activities organized by the Al Ain Police Officers Club, of the Clubs and Sports Activities Department in the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, allow the students to learn about their fathers work in serving and protecting the society. He also pointed out that prizes have been allocated and competitions have been organized to choose the excelled students in each activity in order to create an atmosphere of fair competition among participants.

He listed the participant entities that contributed to the success of the program, including the departments and centers of police, the Public Relations in the Al Ain Police Directorate, the Social Support Center, the Community Police, the Civil Defense, the Ambulance and Rescue, the Traffic Institute, the Security Inspection (k9), the Police Schools, as well as the Medical Services Department; and community entities which are: Zayed House for Family Care, the Emirates Society for Dog Breeders and Animal Welfare, Hili Center for Horsemanship, Al Ain Chess Club, the Department of Emergency and Public Health, and the Al Ain Sport Club.

He called on parents to oversee their children during summer times and send them to the centers and clubs that offer them useful programs and activities and encourage them to raise the level of their skills and competences, and educate them adequately regarding what is good for them especially in relation to the use of modern technology and going to public places that suit their ages. He asserted that the police departments work constantly to serve them and ensure their comfort.
