The Security Media Department’s football team, at the General Secretariat of the Office of H. H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, achieved its first victory at the Journalists Association’s First Ramadan Football Championship defeating the Journalists Sons’ team. The game, which took place yesterday, Tuesday, on the Al Fahim School’s stadium in Abu Dhabi, ended by two goals to one.
The Championship game was attended by Colonel Dr. Fawaz Khaleel Badran, Director of Technical Affairs and Security Media Department; Abdullah Shahin, Director of the Media Branch at the Security Media Department and a number of football fans.
Both teams played a strong and fast-paced game. Players performed nice passes and showed strong offensive skills, each team racing to score the first goal that was scored by Mohammed Al Zu’abi from the Security Media team in the first half of the game. Player Issam Al Ali sent a shot that bounced against the post, allowing Al Zuabi to kick it back into the Journalists’ sons’ goal. The other team had many attempts to achieve a tie during the first half of the game that was characterized by excitement and rivalry; it ended 1-0 in favor of the Security Media team.
The Journalists Sons’ team gave a better performance during the second half of the game. Players intensified their attacks on the Security Media thus scoring the equalizer goal by Shadi Ahmad. The game pace changed after the goal; both teams continued playing strongly, seeking the victory goal thus showing better energy and more attempts to change the outcome of the game.

The Journalists Sons’ team’s happiness of achieving a draw did not last long as the Security Media Department changed the course of the game in his favor, with a goal scored by player Mohammed Al Naqbi received a nice pass from Hamdan Al Dir’e before sending it straight into the Journalists Sons’ goal.
A total of 8 teams took part in the Championship, representing the media institutions in the capital. The games were held on the Al Fahim School’s stadium in Abu Dhabi. Teams were divided into two groups, of 4 teams each. Teams will play against one another; the first and second place winners of each group will move to the semi-finals.
